Elvis Presley EP record Peace in the Valley UK mono RCA Victor RCX-101 1957 is for sale. The front cover of the sleeve features a striking photograph of a young Elvis Presley in black and white with a valley in colour to the background. Peace in the Valley is a 1957 extended play (EP) record that has 4 great songs:
The front of the sleeve has a small tear at the opening with no loss, and creasing, and the back of the sleeve has record creasing, otherwise the sleeve is in Very Good condition. The vinyl record is in Very Good condition with a small label applied to Side 2 upon the RCA logo, with the vinyl being extremely clean.
The reverse of the sleeve gives a brief background to Elvis’ gospel roots and reads (in part):
“It was, then, no real surprise when on a recent Ed Sullivan TV show Elvis decided to do the title song of this set. Nor were the folks at RCA Victor surprised the very next day when the deluge of wires and letters descended suggesting, requesting and demanding that the selection be recorded by Elvis. This album is the result, and it is interesting to note that on these four great sacred numbers Elvis chose to use only the men he normally employs on his popular recording; Scotty Moore on guitar, Bill Black obn bass, D.J. Fontana on drums and The Jordanaires. If you are not impressed by the results, I will be surprised.”
